Walmer Yard

Experiencing Architecture: Inviting Dialogue
Commissioned by Royal Academy of Arts, 2018
Location: Walmer Yard, W11

For one evening, participants were invited to inhabit and occupy the four houses while experiencing performances that experiment with the possibilities the houses offer for sound, narrative, and movement. The evening was an invited dialogue through an experience of architecture – an exchange between building, visitor, and performer.

As a site-specific response to the site of Walmer Yard designed by Peter Salter, Juri presented a series of three performative works that activated various spaces and enhanced our perception of architecture. These were Moving Portraits, Balconies and an extracted adaptation from Umwelten.
